44 Attend Settler's Cabin Park Inaugural Work Day

A total of 44 volunteers came out to support our inaugural Gala Work Day in Settler's Cabin Park in partnership with REI, including a number of PTAG stewards/co-stewards from other parks including DeeDee Grace (Frick Park), John Read (Highland Park), Dave Robb (Bavington/Hillman), and two PTAG Board members (Dave Biber & myself), 13 REI employees as well as a number of folks from PORC.

Over the course of the day volunteers repaired a number of drainage issues along the Teepee Loop trail as well as began installing a new access trail from the parking lot to the loop, replacing an old fall line trail. The most exciting part of the event for me was hearing how many people mentioned that Settler's Cabin was the first park that they had ever ridden and had not been back in years. The new PTAG Settler's Steward and REI staffer, Adam Blumenthal, is already working on planning the next workday so stay tuned for details in the near future.
